The challenge is on...

We are trying to increase our audience on our blog.

We think it is a great place and want more people that we know to enjoy it.  We love comments so please leave us some interesting comments.

In class today we decided that we would make it a bit of a challenge.  We are all trying to get someone we know  to visit our blog and leave a comment saying who encouraged them to visit our fab blog.

We have worked out that we may be able to contact them in 9 different ways.  Can you remember all 9?

I wonder who will be first, have the most comments or have comments from unusual places???

QR Challenge Creation

On the 6th of September the Squares maths group got a sheet called QR Challenge Creation. We had to make 2 of our own QR treasure hunts. On the first one it had 10 questions from our maths ladder and the answers. On the second one it had 10 fraction questions. Then after we did that on a piece of paper we had to go on a computer and write them out. After we did that we got a website to create our QR Treasure Hunt. Finally we printed them out. I can't wait to make my own treasure hunt at home.

We used the book called: If The World Were Was A Village, to help us in maths

First our teacher, Mrs Campbell, told us only a little about the book so she didn't help us too much. Next we got into our maths groups Triangles, Squares and Hexagons. The Hexagons were the ones who got to use the book to help them with their maths. In the village there are only 100 people and each one of those people represent 64,000,000. 31 out 100 people in the village go to school and that's how we got the question 31x64 000,000. In the end Mrs Campbell picked up a calculator and showed us the simplest way to work it out eg.60x31= and 4x31. and the end results was approximately 1984,000,000 people go to school in the world.

Pearl Diver on the Ipads

On Tuesday the 6th of September at Normandale School the Triangles maths group got an ipad each. Our teacher, Mrs Campbell, told us to go to an amazing maths app called Pearl Diver.
We did this to help us with our fractions and our decimals.
