Pocket Facts

What:  Today we identified some tough facts that were tripping us up.  We recorded them and have had them siting on our desks today.  They are called pocket facts because we are taking them in our pocket and sharing them at home.  

So what: We can remember a fact that will help us.

Now what: "if I know that 1/2 of 30 is 15, then I should know that half of 300 is 150.  We can use our pocket facts to know so much more than just one fact.

What a great community

Saturday was a great day for us.   We enjoyed a visit from Vinny the horse and Max the dog.  Their lovely owner stopped outside our house and allowed us to pat her pets and even lead the horse to a trot.  It was a great time.  Thanks so much for stopping and sharing your lovely animals with us.  Many Normandale people spotted us there and there were lots of waves and toots. 
Normandale is a great community to live in.

Today we began the process of our own art.  Here are a few pics of some creations that will morph into art.  Watch this space

A Wonderful Setting

We closed our eyes, listened carefully and described what we could see, hear, smell, feel etc.  This was our initial lot of words.  Lets check this out compared to our edited version in a few days.

Graham Braddock Style Art

Today we had 2 fantastic sessions learning about Still life- Graham Braddock Style.  It was impressive to see how realistic the drawings looked after working hard at getting proportions right and shading coming along.  Watch this space for our art work.
